Acne Klaron Lotion
Klaron lotion is a topical medication in the treatment of acne. It is also known by sodium sulfacet amide lotion.
This lotion is 10 percent approved for the adult acne treatment. It is water-based, alcohol-free and a clear lotion which is proved to be very effective in the treatment of acne.
This lotion is available in a bottle and is easy to apply and well tolerated. It has some side effects such as itching, swelling and redness. Klaron lotion should not be applied when one is allergic to sulfonamides.
It is considered to be the best in the treatment of acne vulgaris.
Ingredients
Klaron Lotion contains the following ingredients such as:-
- Polyethylene glycol
- Lauramide DEA
- Purified water
- Sodium chloride
- Simethicone
- Diethanolamine
- Monolaurate
- Sodium metabisulfite
- Xanthan gum
- Hydroxyethyl cellulose
This lotion should be shaked well and should be applied twice in a day as directed by the doctor. A thin layer should be applied on the skin’s surface and massage it gently on the skin to reduce acne.
When consulting the doctor, all the prescription and nonprescription medications used by the person should be told by them. Any medicine without consulting any pharmacist and doctor should not be started or stopped.

- Swelling
- Irritation
- Stinging or burning
- Rash
Precautions
This lotion should be used externally and should be kept away from the eyes. If the person develops any irritation then this lotion should be immediately discontinued.
The acne patients should observe the changes caused like sensitization and irritation if it is used for long term. This lotion should be kept away from the reach of children. This lotion should be given to the pregnant women only after consulting with the doctor as it may harm the reproduction capacity.
Adverse Reactions
The occurrence of adverse reactions caused by the Klaron Lotion while treating acne vulgaris was found to be infrequent and restricted to local events. It affects about 2 percent of acne patients according to the studies.
Out of 105 acne patients, only one patient had adverse reactions of this lotion such as itching, erythema and edema. So, the use of this lotion should be done after consulting the doctor.
