Acne and Diet

Acne is a skin disorder and is not caused by a diet but diet plays an important factor in the elimination and treatment of acne.

Diet acts as a natural remedy for acne and considered to be the best treatment.

Diet plays the same role as the herbs play in the elimination of acne. So, to reduce acne one has to take a balanced and healthy diet.

Acne is caused by the combination of sebum canals and high level of sebum production.

If these sebum canals are eliminated, then acne will not occur. There are certain foods which contain such substances that can be the cause for acne.

Certain rules to reduce acne

There are certain foods which the patients suffering from acne can take and reduce acne and they are:-

  • If one includes fruits, sashimi and salad in the diet then firstly eat the fruits, then salad and lastly the sashimi to prevent bloating, gasses and cramps.

  • One should include sugar with fats in the diet and should eat dried fruits such as macadamia nuts and Brazil nuts.

  • One should take at least nine meals a day instead of few meals otherwise it will lead to loss of muscle weight, exhaustion and depression.

  • A woman should consume 50gms fresh raw fish or two egg yolks a day and a tall man should consume five egg yolks or 100gms of fresh raw fish a day in the diet.

  • One will be inactive for about one and half hours if some egg yolk or fresh raw fish are consumed by him or her.

  • The acne patients should always eat fresh fruits and vegetables and eat a cucumber mixed with tomato salad along with avocado to reduce acne.

  • One should include juices taken from the juice extractor in his or her diet.

  • Antibiotics should not be taken if one is taking the diet such as fresh raw fish and fresh raw egg yolks as they can weaken the defense system. No hormonal or topical treatment should be taken along with the diet as it can aggravate acne.

  • The face should not be cleaned by the tap water as the minerals and excessive chloride present in the tap water dehydrate the skin and cause acne. The face should be cleaned by the low mineral bottled water to avoid the skin disorders.

  • Supplements should not be taken with the diet as these contain certain ingredients that can cause acne.

  • One should not use the moisturizer as it contains chemicals and leads to high level of water pressure in the skin which produces the sebum and cause acne. A fingertip of oil can be used which protects the outer skin from becoming dehydrated.
