Yoga in The Office

Yoga is essential for every person at any time whether it is done in home, office or any other place. If any person does not have enough time to do yoga in home then one can also do some of the yoga exercises in the office also.

Yoga Exercises Performed in the Office

Neck Stretching Exercises

  • One should stretch the neck as it is the major store of various tensions.
  • One should sit straight by pressing the bones and shoulders downwards with flat feet and sit in a normal position.
  • Bring the right ear towards the right shoulder and allow the left side of the neck to stretch.
  • Then one should raise the right arm up and then bend towards the elbow to increase the stretch of the neck. Allow the right hand to rest on the left ear for a while. Head should not be pulled downwards. Then weight of the hand should be increased on the left side of the neck.
  • One should take about 10 breaths to become comfortable.
  • Bring the arm back and raise it upwards and bring the head slowly towards the center.
  • Repeat this exercise on the other side of the neck.
  • Then bring the chin downwards towards the chest. One should feel a stretch in the back of the neck.
  • Then bring the hands upwards and allow them to rest on the top of the head so that the person feels more stretch in the back of the neck.
  • Again takes 10 breathes to become comfortable.
  • Bring the hands back on the keyboard or knees and then bring the head upwards slowly.
  • One should sit straight so that the spine should feel stretched.
  • One should raise the chin upwards without dropping the head.
  • Then one should breathe into the chest points.
  • Bring the head back to normal position and do some neck rolls.

Chest Opener Exercises

  • Sit straight on the chair.
  • Bring both hands together.
  • Chest should be lifted up and arms should be stretched downwards.
  • Hold this posture and one should breathe from the chest.
  • Then bring the chest towards the thighs and then breathe.
  • One should make the elbows straight while holding the hands.
  • Bring the hands towards back and make them rest on the back.
  • Then hands should be released and one should sit with the back upwards.

Eye Exercises

  • One should sit straight and then close the eyes and again open them. Repeat this once again.
  • Then one should draw the face towards the clock with the eyes without moving the head. Allow the eyes to imagine 12:00.
  • Then observe the hands to move to 1:00.
  • One should keep the head still and move the eyes to 2:00.
  • One should move the eyes deliberately around the clock to each hour.
  • When one reaches the starting point i.e 12:00, then move the eyes back towards 11:00 then 10:00 and so on.
  • Then one should close the eyes and rub the hands together quickly. Then one notices that the palm of the hands becomes warm. Bring the warm hands upwards and keep them on the closed eyes.
