Brushing and Flossing
Any dentist would tell you that regular brushing and flossing of teeth is very important for maintaining your oral hygiene. If you want to maintain your beautiful smile, you should brush at least twice a day. Formation of bacteria in our mouth is the main cause of bad breath.
Regularly and properly brushing your teeth would help getting rid of these bacteria and preventing them from multiplying and creating the embarrassing problem of bad breath.
While brushing your teeth, your focus should be on all surfaces of your teeth. You have to ensure that every side of your teeth is perfectly clean. In case, you are aware that you are suffering from bad breath, you should understand it clearly that taking mint or using chewing gums could not solve the problem. These products would provide you with only a temporary solution.
To rid it permanently, you should prevent the formation of bacteria inside the mouth. These products only masks the bad breathe of your mouth temporarily.
It is generally advised that you should brush your teeth after every meal. This would include snacks and meals that are taken in between the major meals. Brushing your teeth prevents bacteria to increase; in fact brushing actually removes them.
In case, it is not possible to do so then you should brush at least twice a day. Using powerful bacteria-removing toothpaste would provide lots of help in this effort.
While brushing your teeth, you should not concentrate only on your teeth. You should brush your tongue, the back of your cheeks, the area under the tongue, and the upper portion of the mouth. Bacteria grow in these areas also. So, you should take care of these areas too while brushing.
Another important component of any oral hygiene routine is regular flossing. Flossing also helps in keeping your teeth clean and thereby keeping your breath fresh. It should be very clear to you the fact that bacteria are minute organism that is invisible to naked eyes.
But, they can be present anywhere inside your mouth and could be present in between your teeth. By undertaking the process of dental flossing, the teeth are actually being polished and as a result bacteria are being removed.
Even if you do not suffer from bad breath, using a mouthwash after every brushing and flossing is a good habit. Your toothbrush could reach only a part of your mouth. By using a mouthwash, you will be in a better position to maintain your oral hygiene.
