Liver Spots

Liver spots are flat spots in yellow or brow color.

It is caused by aging, expose to the ultraviolet rays, impaired liver function and nutritional deficiency. It is also called by age spots.

They commonly occur on the forearms, face, hands, shoulder and forehead. It is develop in old aged people.

Causes

Liver spots are developed by unbalanced growth of the tanning pigment, which is known as melanin in the skin’s surface. Sometimes, this skin disorder may be associated by excessive sun exposure

Symptoms and signs:

  • Skin lesion, macule or flat patch
  • Light brown, yellow or black in color
  • Mostly found on the arms, hands or forehead.

Diagnosis:

It is usually appear old aged people that means patients are over 40 years old. It is appear a person who has lot of sun exposure. A doctor can be watched the affected area for diagnosis.

Complications:

Anaphylaxis is the main complication of liver spots.

Treatment:

There is no need of medical treatment. Cosmetic appearance may be beneficial by the use of skin bleaching creams or lotions. Laser surgery and cryotherapy are useful to remove the liver spots.

Home recipes for treatment of liver spots:

  1. Apple cider vinegar: Two teaspoons orange juice and take four teaspoons apple cider vinegar. And then Mix together well and apply it to the liver spots.
  2. Castor oil: Take few drops of castor oil and apply it over the liver spots twice a day. Rub well; the liver spots disappear within four weeks.
  3. Gotu kola: Take 1/4-teaspoon herb powder, 1/4teaspoon of ginseng, two pinches of cayenne and one full cup herbal tea. Mix all ingredients well and form a paste. And then use it to liver spots for few days.
  4. Garbanzo beans: Take 1/3 cup of water and chickpeas. Mix chick peas with water and make a paste. And then apply it to the liverspots and left for 15-20 minutes. Then wash with Luke warm water.
  5. Horseradish: Take one teaspoon of horseradish root, ½ teaspoon vinegar, ½ teaspoon of lemon juice and few drops of rosemary oil. Mix all ingredients well and apply it on the liverspots. Onion made recipe: Take a grated onion and make one teaspoon of juice of onion and two teaspoon of vinegar. And then mix ingredients and rub it on the liverspots.
  6. Aloe Vera juice: Take fresh aloe Vera juice and rub into the spots. Aloe Vera juice is beneficial to remove the liver spots.

Prevention:

  • One should protect your skin from the sunrays.
  • One should use sunglasses.
  • One should use only sunscreens with SPF-15.
  • One should wear protective cloth such as long skirts, long hats, long sleeved shirts or pants.
  • One should avoid go to outside between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
