Natural Alternative for Raynaud’s Disease
Raynaud’s disease is basically a disorder of the blood vessels that supply blood to the skin. This condition leads to the toes, fingers and sometimes the ears, tongue, nose, nipples and knees to feel cold and numb.
A typical attack of Raynaud occurs in stages and may appear as follows:
The part of the body affected first turns out to be white because of the reduction in blood supply; next, the appearance of a blue tinge takes place as oxygen becomes depleted in the area. It should be noted that though the above experience is considered typical, not every person with Raynaud’s disease experiences these changes nor do they take place in every attack.
Causes of Raynaud’s disease
Raynaud’s episodes can be found out by cold, either by touching cold objects or by being in a cold environment, body particularly lessens flow of blood by constricting the small arteries beneath the skin of your extremities.
Signs and symptoms of Raynaud’s disease
Sensations of coldness, paresthesias, burning pain, irregular color changes of more than one digit are precipitated by exposure to cold, vibration or emotional stress. All can be reversed by removing the stimulus. Re-warming the hands accelerates the restoration of normal color and sensation. When disorder takes place without any known cause, it is called as Raynaud’s disease or primary Raynaud’s.
When the condition takes place with a likely cause, it is known as secondary Raynaud’s or Raynaud’s phenomenon. Primary Raynaud’s is more common and is likely to be less severe as compared to secondary Raynaud’s.
Following natural alternative can be pursued for curing Raynaud’s disease:
- Dry body brushing may help in increasing circulation. Once a day, starting at the feet, rub the body with a wash cloth in a circular motion up towards the heart; all the parts of the body above the heart are rubbed downwards.
- If you reside in a place with seasons, always wear a scarf, mittens or gloves and a good pair boots and socks during the colder months. A hat is also very important as the body loses a lot of heat by means of the head. Wear warm cloth and layered clothing with long cuffs.
- During the warmer months it is nice to have a sweater handy as air conditioning can avoid an attack. If you are indoors, always wear socks and lower the temperature of air conditioning at home; never walk around barefoot.
Thus, by following the above natural ways, Raynaud’s disease can be avoided or can be cured easily.
