The highly concentrated essences of aromatic plants are essential oils. These oils promote healing of mind and body.
These essential oils are found in flowers, twigs, leaves and bark of the plants. Essential oils are found in the flowers of rose, in the leaves of basil and in the wood of sandalwood.
Composition of essential oils:
The properties of essential oil depend on the combination and concentration of constituent organic chemical families of terpenes, sesquiterpenes, esters, alcohols, phenols, aldehydes, ketones and organic acids. They contain vitamins, hormones, antibiotics and antiseptics.
