Aromatherapy Skin Care

Essential Oils are very beneficial to reduce acne or blemishes or can be used in face washes or face masks to tone and balance healthy skin.

It is advisable that never exceed more than 10 drops of all essential oils for each ointment and one can keep it about five for more effectiveness.

Aromatherapy for Dry Skin Wash

  • 10 drops of bois de rose oil
  • 10 drops of sandalwood oil
  • 10 drops of lavender oil
  • Two full tablespoons avocado

Mix all ingredients well and make a paste. Apply this mixture on the dry skin. It gives amazing results. This mixture of oils is very beneficial for people who have dry skin.

Aromatherapy for Problem Skin Wash

  • 10 drops of palmarosa oil
  • 10 drops of myrrh oil
  • 10 drops of frankincense oil
  • A tablespoon flaxseed
  • A full tablespoon of Borage

Add all oils in flaxseed and Borage well. Apply this paste on the skin and let leave it for a few minutes. It makes the skin smooth, soft and clean.

Aromatherapy for Sun care Blend

  • 1 drop of peppermint oil
  • About 14 drops of lavender oil
  • Cold water about 4 to 8 oz.

Mix oils in cold water gently. Apply this mixture on the face and neck. One should use it in sunny days.

Aromatherapy for Acne Medication

  • 6 drops of bergamot
  • 8 drops of tea tree oil
  • 4 drops of lavender oil
  • Jojoba oil about .75 oz

Mix all ingredients very well. Use it in each evening and massaging around the acne. This therapy is very beneficial to reduce acne from the surface of the skin.

Aromatherapy for Hair Treatment

  • One drop of lavender oil
  • 2 drops of rosemary oil
  • One drop of bay oil
  • Olive oil about 20 ml

Mix all oils well in a large bowl. Take a few drops of this mixture and apply on scalp or hair gently and leave it for about 4-5 hours. And at last shampoo the hair.

Aromatherapy for Reviving Face Mask

  • 2 drops of lemon oil
  • 2 drops of petitgrain oil
  • 2 drops of ylang ylang oil
  • Iced water about 20 ml

Mix all ingredients in crushed almonds and make a thick paste. One should use it like a facemask. Leave it for a few minutes and rinse off with Luke warm water.

Precautions:

  • Oils such as clove, fennel, juniper, basil, cinnamon, hyssop, myrrh, rosemary, sage, marjoram, peppermint, and white thyme are not used during pregnancy.
  • Oils like clove, sage, cinnamon and hyssop are not suitable for home use.
  • Oils such as clary sage, juniper, tea tree, bay, pine and ginger are not used for steam facials.
  • One should not go outside after applying any of these oils to the skin for about two hours.
